Fidelity Investments — Consultant/Design Lead
Boston MA [August 2003 — present]

  • Lead the design team (visual design, information architecture, usability, editorial, and prototyping) in the development of Fidelity's Income Management Account (see, for example Kiplinger.com) as well as a Flash demo of the account
  • Currently leading design teams on the creation of Fidelity's next generation of planning and guidance tools

BaseSix — Creative Director

  • Created websites for a wide range of clients, including AT&T Broadband, AOL Broadband, GE Brokerage and GE Asset Management, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Cox Communications
  • Designed content channel "Keyword: Broadband" for America Online, including dial-up and broadband versions for AOL's 38 million users
  • Developed intranets for Johnson & Johnson and AT&T Broadband

  • Designed the Department of Education's first website and gopher site using BBN's Unix-based Copernicus server, one of the first Department of Education websites in the country
  • Spoke at many educational conferences on impact of the Universal Service provisions of the 1996 Telecommunications Act
  • Taught seminars on use of Digital Equipment Corporation's Vax VMS Operating System to Massachusetts public Higher Education faculty.

MediaOne — Manager of Educational Technology
Boston MA [February 1996 — June 1997]

  • Worked in MediaOne's Corporate and Legal Affairs group
  • Authored the policy by which MediaOne's regions would implement the cable industry's responsibilities in order to comply with 1996 telecommunications act
  • Consulted with MediaOne's High Speed Data group to specify a high-speed data cable "product" for schools
  • Successfully encouraged MediaOne regions to exceed Federal requirements for offering free cable modems to schools, in order to spur broadband adoption
